For the last 15 years, Avik has specialized in business strategy, business model innovations, process design, operations and impact assessment for inclusive and environmentally sustainable growth agenda of emerging markets. He engages with leaders of Multinational Corporations, Global Institutions, Civil Society Organizations, and Social Entrepreneurs on designing innovative business models, evaluating investment opportunities and market based interventions for “base of the pyramid” low income population in emerging markets. He has worked on the ground and conducted research in over 50 projects in 10 countries in Asia and Africa and across 12 sectors.

He has worked with ICI India and TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) in India. In 2005 he joined The Next Practice, the consulting firm of Professor C K Prahalad which focused on incubating innovations for low income households and entry strategies in emerging markets.

Avik has received the Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode where he was the General Electric Fund Scholar. He was also awarded the IIM Kozhikode Gold Medal for Best All Round Performance. He earned a bachelor’s degree first class with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University.
