and Latest Events carefully selected for you!

JULY, 2022

Dear Partner,

Have you come across the recent Lancet article on facilitators and barriers to the implementation of improved solid fuel cookstoves and clean fuels in low-income and middle-income countries? Do you know Unilever is empowering smallholder farmers in Indonesia by introducing a new variety of coconut trees and a tech solution? Have you registered for the Center for Global Development webinar on "There is nothing micro about a billion women - actions to drive financial inclusion."

Do not worry. You can find all these and more in this edition of our monthly sector scan, where we bring news, articles, reports, and events specially handpicked for you.

But first, our plug.

Funded by the Adaptation Fund and supported by NABARD, Development Research Communication and Services Centre (DRCSC) has been developing climate-adaptive capacities for 5000 climate threatened families in two of the driest districts in the state of West Bengal, India - Purulia and Bankura. The climate change adaptation program has designed, piloted, and scaled up innovative practices which are potential lessons for policymakers, practitioners, Governments, and institutions in maximizing their impact.

As DRCSC's knowledge partner, Re-emerging World has synthesized these learnings into a lessons learned report. The consortium will be organizing a National Conclave in Kolkata, India, this month to launch the public report and disseminate eight key lessons which have surfaced from the program. More details on that soon.

For now, you can download the short version of the report here, and let us know your feedback.
