A partnership between The Lancet and Imperial College, London has resulted in a Commission which explores how medical technology can best serve the health of people in the middle and low income countries. The report says that a sizeable percentage of medical equipment, almost always made in developed countries lie unused or damaged in hospitals in the developing nations.
