Open defecation in Cameroon

Thousands of residents of Bamenda and other cities in Cameroon don’t have access to toilets because of a lack of public and private facilities. Here, open defecation is prevalent and increases the risk of diseases like cholera and more. According to UN, less than half of Cameroon’s population has access to improved sanitation facilities, and people mostly defecate in open. Read more here.
