Pakistan: 50 per cent children do not attend school because they are poor

A number of laws in the country exist in order to protect ‘child rights’ but it seems that few are effective in terms of implementation. At a recent seminar called ‘Promotion and Protection of Child Rights’ organized by the Government in association with UNICEF led to the announcement of the fact that about 50 per cent of children in Pakistan were out of schools because they suffered from conditions of poverty.
