Recreating the global food system

World food production, despite being sufficient to provide   the entire population in the world with adequate food, falls short of doing   so due to the global food systems in their current forms. Hunger and   consequent malnutrition – both under and over-nutrition has thus become an   international issue, especially in the light of estimates that there may be   an actual shortage of food to feed people by 2050.
