Slums in the world, and how sanitation is an inherent problem

In Mumbai, nearly 8 million people live in slums – that is more than 60 per cent of Mumbai’s population living on 8 per cent of the city’s land. Sanitation conditions are obviously exacerbated by this heavy load of population, and an already non-existent infrastructure for even the most basic form of sanitation servicer. Read more here.
