UN helps launch recycling and composting pilots in Pakistani cities
UN-Habitat and UNESCAP (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) recently launched a solid waste management pilot in select cities of Mardan, Islamabad, Karachi and Rawalpindi. The use of IRRCs (Integrated Resource Recovery Centres) will be made which will be low cost and will require community involvement. Read more here.
