Trash to purses – how one man’s trash is another man’s flood prevention

Joe Castillo of Joe Green Project is teaching communities to put their trash to use. In Philippines, the Metro Manila Development Authority reports that every year, tonnes of plastic and Styrofoam are removed from the city’s sewers and drainage systems. In South Asian countries, where flooding is a common phenomenon, Joe is teaching communities how to make innovative crafts out of the waste they must throw in drains and sewers. Read more here.
