India: University teaches people how to convert solid waste to manure

Banaras or Varanasi in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has always had sanitation problems, with even its municipal corporation failing with solid waste management. Now, an initiative by department of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to teach villagers how to convert biodegradable solid waste to manure is expected to reduce the load of garbage while also providing good source of farm manure.
