| Malnourished children across rural India are supposed to be monitored by the staff of aanganwadi centres (centres which double as children nourishment and support care as well as mini-healthcare institutions) which were established under ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services Scheme), one that the government of India pours money into without bounds. Yet, many aanganwadis across the country are understaffed, and children severely malnourished. The latest example in gross misconduct and overlooking of monitoring of health of children in Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh (MP) contribute to this disturbing story. Read more here. |
