Nigeria: Urban horticulture thrives

In Lagos, there is a severe undersupply of proper housing, employment and other basic necessities of life. Yet, in the midst of all this people have found resilience in urban horticulture farming, oftentimes on public lands, using unhygienic water. Urban and per-urban horticulture hubs (UPHs) now not only provide for the employment of many, but also provide about 80 per cent of the vegetable supply. Read more here.
