It was decided at a recent conference of high level government officials and policy makers in Accra, Ghana, that efficient ways to reduce the emissions of SLCPs (short-lived climate pollutants) would be devised. SLCPs include methane, black carbon (soot), tropospheric ozone, and many hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). According to Ghana’s Environment Minister Sherry Ayittey, this move would also promote gender equality as it would address the issue of inefficient cooking and indoor air pollution. Read more here.
