A GoM, or a Group of Ministers have written to the Indian health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, asking him to fast track a law wherein the payments made by pharma firms to doctors will be made transparent. This law will also make it mandatory for doctors to prescribe low cost generic drugs to their patients. To give a push to the low cost generic drugs, the government will also ensure a retail shop with the generic medicines in hospitals. Read more here.
