India: Bangalore government explores biogas options to handle garbage

The city of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka has been, for some time struggling with piles of garbage generated by the teeming city. The garbage was earlier dumped in nearby semi-urban and rural areas, but following a protest from residents of such areas, the government has been looking for an efficient way to get rid of its waste. It has turned to household based biogas generators to produce electricity individually for houses. Read more here.
