Emerging Practices in Mobile Microinsurance

This report by the GSM Association, or the GSMA explains why using mobile phones as a medium of facilitating the access to insurance is better than traditional ways of underwriting insurance. The cost of insurance does not decrease depending on the size of the insurance amount, and hence MNOs or Mobile Network Operators, with their large distribution network, could potentially have a large role to play in the way to making microinsurance to the poor accessible.
