Ghana: How ‘poop’ is a political issue, that must be resolved

Accra, Ghana’s drains have been clogged for years and there are occasional outbreaks of cholera. Nearly 86 per cent of the city’s population does not have access to adequate means of sanitation for their daily needs, and the beaches are used as public toilets by way of open defecation. What makes the situation more convoluted is that politicians use provision of sanitation as a political agenda, term by term. Read more here.
