Reshaping the future of cocoa farming in Africa

While their counterparts in Latin America encourage their cocoa plantations with plenty of shade from other trees, farmers in Africa cut down the trees which facilitate a better carbon sink and nutrition absorption so that they may be able to plant more trees. Now, there may be respite for the poor cocoa farmers who will be encouraged to not practice deforestation for higher yields in volume, through scientific breakthroughs. Read more here.
