This report by the Institution of Mechanical   Engineers, speaks of about 30-50 per cent of the world’s food, or about between   1.2 and 2 billion metric tonnes being waste before it can be consumed. The   report has divided the globe in three broad economic regions, identifying   malpractices that lead to food wastage in each of these regions. Read the   report here.
