Biochar cookstoves boost health for people and crops

Combining the benefits of clean burning stoves with stoves that burn biomass in a clean and smokeless way to produce biochar (biochar burned in oxygen-free environment), is the newest trend in propagating the health causes of both people and crops in rural areas of developing countries. Social enterprises like SeaChar are producing stoves which do precisely the above, letting people breathe easier, and handing them the finished product of biochar – something that can be used to replenish barren soils with nutrients and water, and also as a vehicle for burying carbon.
