How mobiles bridge the Digital Divide

There are three basic prerequisites that are facilitating the adoption of mobile phones across the world. In 2011, almost 500 million smart phones were sold worldwide – and they comprised 30 per cent of the total sales. Furthermore, more and more cell phone connection providers, who have been previously able to provide low-cost cellular services in developing countries like those in Africa, are now working on making broadband accessible to these areas.
