More enabling ICT policies needed for Caribbean and Latin America

The group of countries where broadband is less accessible, more expensive and less used in the OECD countries, comprise of most of Latin American countries. It was also found that a 10 per cent point increase in broadband penetration in the region could boost gross domestic product by an average 3.2 per cent and raise productivity by 2.6 per cent. Although in the region, broadband is rapidly expanding, the region still lags behind in terms of coverage, access and adoption of ICT services, as compared to the developed countries.
