Why micronutrients can save lives worldwide

More than 50 per cent of preschool children   aged less than 5, are anaemic. This problem is all pervasive especially in   the developing parts of the world. Childhood anaemia causes long-lasting   problems and so far the methods of combat had been iron supplements which   left the children physically weaker, with upset stomachs. A new micronutrient   enriched supplement that can be added to food directly can reduce mortality   for preschool aged children by 23 per cent, other than taking care of   anaemia.
