At a conference organised by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA), experts were of the opinion that a tsunami like wave of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases are about to hit the world, and we are unprepared for it. 80 per cent of the 36 million dying from NCDs are from the developing countries.
