Developing countries need US$83 billion a year for agriculture

According to farm ministers gathered recently at Berlin, agricultural investments must be drastically increased in developing countries to meet the demand of a booming population. According to estimates by the UN FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) the average annual net investment in agriculture must reach an amount of at least US$83 billion to meet the demands of 9 billion people in the world by 2050.
