Water harvesting slakes thirst at an innovative Kenyan inn

When Gaitano Likhavila was still working as an accountant at the provincial hospital in the west Kenyan town of Kakamega he witnessed a hospital being closed down due to shortage of water, while it poured on the roof outside. This got him kickstarting his business now known as the KwelaKwela Inn, along the Kakamega-Kisumu highway, where he has installed an underground tank for harvesting all the rain water, thereby saving him money as well as ensuring water for him while the nearby river dries up.
