Legal recognition urged for women farmers in India
Oxfam India has urged the speedy passage of a Bill that had been introduced in the Parliament by MS Swaminathan, which is for the empowerment of women farmers by enabling transfer of land titles to their names. Oxfam India believes that this will help women get water, seed and land rights, and hopes that this Bill will be implemented in the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017). Read more here.
