According to the mWomen association at GSMA, the global association for mobile operators, women are 21 per cent less likely than men to own mobile phones. Given that 41 per cent of all mobile phone users in developing countries use cell phones to increase their income, this 21 per cent signifies a massive opportunity for impact. This post lists two reasons for this disparity – women either are not sure they need it, or are not sure they know how to use it.
