India: Banks may write off US$1.12 billion debt to microfinance institutions

A number of MFIs unable to recover loans from Indian state Andhra Pradesh, might soon have their debt written off by their banks. The banks had previously restructured loans, but it now seems that recovering the money will be unlikely. Read more here.
