According to a new report by the International Finance Corporation, Africa is set to become the largest market of off grid solar imports. The past three years have seen an increase of 300% in terms of solar products imports. A number of projects involving solar lanterns and other products were designed with Africa in mind. These include LuminAID, Solar Aid, Solar Pebble, LUCI, 100,000 Solar Lantern Project, and more. This may explain why an estimated 140 million people in the continent are predicted to get access to clean energy by 2015. Read more here.
