Indian scientist awarded UN prize for research on black carbon and methane effect on the environment

Indian scientist Veerabhadran Ramanathan recently received the United Nations Champion of the Earth award for his research on the effect of black carbon and methane on the environment. A professor at The Energy and Resources Institute, his work helps quantify the effect of the black carbon or soot, produced in large by inefficient stoves abundantly used in rural areas of developing countries.
