Boon for mobile money banking
USAID and Citigroup recently colalborated to further encourage the use of mobile banking in rural communities in several countries, including the Philippines, Colombia, Haiti, Indonesia and Kenya and others. About US$23 million was pledged to support local mobile money platforms, while Citi committed to integrate its core banking solutions with the mobile money to reach the so-called last-mile.
