Agricultural land grabs in developing countries

According to a report launched last year by the Land Matrix Partnership, since the year 2000, investors or state bodies in developed or rich countries have purchased more than 83 million hectares of agricultural land in poor developing countries, amounting to 1.7 per cent of the world’s agricultural land.
