An ATM for clean water

Introduced as a brainchild of Piramal Foundation, CSR wing of Piramal Group, a new water ATM has been solving drinking and cooking problems for Rajasthan’s Alwar district, where the municipal water is saline and the groundwater has high fluorine content. When a card is swiped, the card holder withdraws water in containers against their existing balance, at the rate of INR .50/litre. This machine can process up to 1000 litres in an hour through its reverse osmosis process. Read more here.
