Cooking smoke kills thousands in Africa

In SSA (sub-Saharan Africa), almost half a million people die due to the smoke produced from cooking on inefficient cookstoves. The Global Burden of Disease Study states that while risk of death from household air pollution has fallen between 1990 and 2010, it remains the second biggest risk factor in West, East and sub-Saharan Africa.
