Fairtrade Foundation report damns treatment of smallholder farmers, urges David Cameron to action in G8

A new Fairtrade Foundation report alleges that the international business has been treating smallholder farmers unfairly, despite extreme dependence on the same. Read more here. Fairtrade Foundation, as a part of Fairtrade Fortnight have launched a campaign to urge world leaders to act on the fact that smallholder farmers produce 70 per cent of the world’s food, yet make up half of the world’s hungry. With respect to this, David Cameron is being urged to use the occasion of G8 as an opportunity to back smallholder farmers through a sustainable plan of the future. Read more here.
