Ghana: Infant nutrition in the first week

This is a study conducted in the   Kassena-Nankana District of the Upper East Region of northern Ghana, with 35   women and their newborn infants. The conclusions found that while women were   aware of the benefits of breastfeeding in order to provide adequate nutrition   to their newborns, traditional practices formed hindrances.
