GravityLight: The low cost lamp powered by sand and gravity
A couple of designers from London have managed to create a lamp that runs on sand and gravity, which could sell for as little as £3. GravityLight is charged by a bag that is filled with about 9 kgs of material and hung from a cord below the light – as the bag descends, gears inside the device convert weight into energy, providing up to 30 minutes, of light.
