Hoping for a better life for 15 million Afghans

Afghanistan suffers from the some of the highest rates of malnutrition in the world – about 65 per cent of the school children in Afghanistan suffer from Vitamin A deficiency. On September 9, 2012, GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) launched a programme in partnership with WFP (World Food Programme), Ministry of Public Health and KBZF (Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation). This partnership will attempt to make the regular food consumed by the majority of Afghanis healthier through micronutrient fortification. Read more here.
