| According to Howarth Bouis, director of HarvestPlus of IFPRI (International Food Policy Research Institute), India’s malnutrition crisis has not enough to do with rice and wheat, the prices of which have only increased over the past two years, but more to do with the steadily increasing prices of vegetables, fruits, lentils, and other animal products other than milk. HarvestPlus is an interdisciplinary programme that works with several institutional stakeholders to breed micro-nutrient rich staple food crops.
