How giving residents of Nepal clean cookstoves helps saves lives

In Nepal, rural households are no different than the rural households in India or Africa – biomass materials like wood and animal dung are used in an inefficient and polluting method to cook food. The Himalayan Cookstove Project attempts to help Nepali households access cleaner cookstoves despite their geographical disadvantage, which makes access to basic necessities difficult.
