Improving air quality in rural Kenya

More of rural Kenya is still suffering in the clutches of inefficient cookstoves, despite significant advances in the past few years. In view of this, the Kenya Medical Research Institute/Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KEMRI/CDC) have partnered with Safe Water and AIDS Project (SWAP) and the Berkeley Air Monitoring Group to test 6 shortlisted cookstoves which will be evaluated for reduction in smoke in two villages in Nyanza Province in Kenya.
