The high court of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, the epicentre of the microfinance overlending storm in 2010, has upheld the severe law on microfinance in the state which was subsequently launched. The petition to declare the Andhra Pradesh Micro Finance Institutions (Regulation of Money Lending) Act 2010 as illegal and unconstitutional was raised by SKS Microfinance.
