India: Government plans to distribute low cost Android tablets to school children

The Indian Government will soon be distributing low-cost Android OS based tablets, called the Aakash tablet, developed by a UK-based company called Datawind to students in India at a subsidized rate of US$21. The prototype for this was developed at Indian Institute of Technology. Read more here.
