India: Housing for poor in Pune and Gujarat
The City Improvement Committee of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has approved a policy for construction of houses for poor under the second phase of housing scheme for economically weaker sections (EWS) The proposal states that the civic body is constructing 13,250 houses in the EWS housing scheme under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
