India: Karnataka to remove middle men from horticulture market ecosystem

The department of horticulture of the state of Karnataka has implemented the Comprehensive Horticulture Development Plan in the district of Mysore, which is hoped to encourage growth of the fruit and vegetable sector in the region. The new associations of farmers would be provided technical assistance and would also have increased bargaining power enabling them to cut out the middlemen. Read more here.
