India: Nearly 50 per cent of children underweight in border areas of Rajasthan

In the Indian state of Rajasthan, even as the nation celebrates national nutrition week (1-7 September), the nutrition status of women was found to be particularly low (especially in the border areas), despite several government measures in place. This leads directly to nearly 50 per cent of children being underweight, and as many as 54 infant deaths between April 1 and August 31. Read more here.
