Encouraged by the NGO Ekta Prishad, as many as 30,000 poor, discontented landless people, representing people from 26 states of India, marched from Gwalior to Delhi to protest against the poor land reform policy in the nation which overlooks the rights and privileges of the poor. While a number of places in India have implementations of IAY (Indira Awas Yojana), or India’s affordable housing scheme in place, most of the poor populace of India has been left out. Read more here.
