Mobile money in the developing world – if only regulators got ‘out of the way’

Mobile money’s first successful stint was seen in Kenya with Safaricom’s M-PESA. Similar successful trends were followed in many East African countries. However, there are other developing countries in the world which could use the financial inclusion benefits of mobile money, but uptake has been low due to low enthusiasm from the governments and regulators.
