US based hybrid impact investments fund, the Grassroots Business Fund is looking to invest US$47 million, an amount it received in a deal last year. It was also the recipient of grant money worth US$12 million. According to the CEO Harold Rosen, the fund is looking to create a two part approach to impact investing – philanthropists pay grant money for ‘technical assistance’, providing for free business help, and business investors thus get their 7-10 per cent of expected return rate.
